Statement from Sakarya Provincial Health Directorate Regarding Allegations of Negligence in Infant Death

The Sakarya Provincial Health Directorate has addressed allegations of negligence regarding the death of an infant six years ago, stating, "In the preliminary investigation conducted with expert reports, no faults were identified in the prosecutor's inquiry or the forensic medical report, and the prosecutor's office has decided not to pursue it."

In the statement from the Provincial Health Directorate, it was emphasized that news reports titled "The Newborn Scandal has Struck Again" published in national media are misleading and unfounded.

The following was noted in the statement:

"Concerning the allegations made in the shared report, the Sakarya Provincial Health Directorate carried out a preliminary investigation in 2018 with expert reports, and it was determined that no faults were found during the prosecutor's investigation and the forensic medical report. The prosecutor's office has also made a decision that there is no basis for prosecution. The process has been meticulously monitored. Necessary inspections have been carried out by our Directorate, and inspections continue to be conducted."
